Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time in small Folk Music Groups. The song was composed with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it was going to be one of the Top 10 hits.
