John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he composed, the majority of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. However, he discovered love for Colorado. He eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states the fact that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's initial inductee, was honoured with the award in the year 2011. He is the face of Colorado for many people across the globe. When I travel, you will meet people on opposite sides of the globe. For example someone who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're originally from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time in small Folk Music Groups. The song was composed with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it was going to be one of the Top 10 hits. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver released the song a couple of days from now.
